Spring in San Pedro

March to May, with the last weeks of the whale migration.

From January through mid-April, Pacific gray whales pass San Pedro. Boats leave from the harbor, and you can watch from shore at Point Vicente.

Grunion come ashore to spawn on local beaches on set nights. The state publishes the expected dates each year.

Downtown galleries and shops stay open late on the first Thursday of every month except July.

A weekly market downtown with California produce, hot food and local makers, in the Mesa Street lot between 5th and 6th.

A free tour and community ringing of the Friendship Bell at Angels Gate Park on the first Saturday of the month.
