Like most water sports, personal watercraft use or jet skiing is very popular here in San Pedro. The calm waters of LA Harbor are ideal for everyday enjoyment and family fun! Much of the harbor area north of boat lauch ramp is restricted from use by personal watercraft and powered boats. For more experienced jet skiers, or those looking for excitement, the outside waters of Cabrillo Beach provide more of a challenge.
There is a boat ramp at Cabrillo Beach where you can launch your personal watercraft. The boat lauch ramp is best reached from Shoshonean Road off Via Cabrillo Marina. All personal watercraft must be launched at the ramp. It is open from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM and has trailer parking, boat wash facilities and restrooms. Parking is $2.00/hr for vehicle and boat trailer to a maximum of $15.00 per day. There is no extra charge for the boat launch ramp. Vehicles with a boat trailer attached may be left over night or for several days at $15.00 per day. Vehicles without a boat trailer attach cannot be left over night and may be towed if left past 10 PM. Payment is made in cash or with a credit card.
The beach is run by the County of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. The boat ramp is run by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. Below is a map showing the location of Cabrillo Beach.
