San Pedro has some of the finest sport fishing in the entire world. 22nd Street Landing and L A Waterfront Cruises Sportfishing are both home ports to many charter and open party sport fishing boats that are the finest on the Pacific Coast. Trips vary in length from 1/2 day to multi-day trips of two or more days, fitting anyone’s needs and schedule. Tackle and equipment are available for rental at the landings. The Rusty Hook, an amazing fishing tackle shop is located in San Pedro. It features fresh and salt water bait and tackle for all needs.
There is a boat ramp at Cabrillo Beach where you can launch your own boat. The boat launch ramp is best reached from Shoshonean Road off Via Cabrillo Marina. It is open from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM and has trailer parking, boat wash facilities and restrooms. Parking is $2.00/hr for vehicle and boat trailer to a maximum of $15.00 per day. There is no extra charge for the boat launch ramp. Vehicles with a boat trailer attached may be left over night or for several days at $15.00 per day. Vehicles without a boat trailer attached cannot be left over night and may be towed if left past 10 PM. Payment is made in cash or with a credit card.
The beach is run by the County of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. The boat ramp is run by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.
For the fisherman not wishing to take a fishing trip in a boat, San Pedro offers fishing from the Cabrillo Beach Pier, the shoreline, and the breakwater. Here is a Map showing the location of Cabrillo Beach.
