Recreational Diving in the San Pedro – Los Angeles Harbor Area

There are many excellent dive sites that are near the San Pedro, CA – LA Harbor area. The nearby Channel Islands have some of the best diving sites in the world. 22nd Street Landing and L A Harbor Sportfishing are both homeport to many charter diving boats that are the finest on the Pacific Coast. Several Dive Shops are located in San Pedro.

There is a boat ramp at Cabrillo Beach where you can launch your own boat. The boat lauch ramp is best reached from Shoshonean Road off Via Cabrillo Marina. It is open from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM and has trailer parking, boat wash facilities and restrooms. Parking is $2.00/hr for vehicle and boat trailer to a maximum of $15.00 per day. There is no extra charge for the boat launch ramp. Vehicles with a boat trailer attached may be left over night or for several days at $15.00 per day. Vehicles without a boat trailer attach cannot be left over night and may be towed if left past 10 PM. Payment is made in cash or with a credit card.
